We’ve located some perfect, hidden spots for picnics in the Summer. And the water is shallow enough that wee Zoe can walk in and soak herself.

Day 13: From a Distance

Distance. I had hoped for a better day today, so you could see it better. Scotland is in this photo. On the horizon, in the center of the photo, where the land cuts out in the middle of the photo. What appears to be a tiny mountain, would be Scotland.

All very fascinating I know. However, I had planned on a non challenge blog tonight and an early bedtime. Zoe got into something, somehow, seeing as how she’s always near one of us. So she’s puked a good 10 times in the last few hours. So any sleep I hoped to get, will now be spent worrying about her all night.

I wonder how they would feel if I setup her bed under my desk?

I am completely spent. I wish I could be around more for those online that I care about, but there are so many sites that I don’t have the time or the energy. For those of you I do talk to, if you ever need a vent or a chat, please feel free to email me. That’s usually easier to get to.

Day 12: Close Up

I introduce you to the late Harry Joe. I’m becoming amused at how some of these things are happening in time for the challenge. This fantastic guy, well, we met in the wee hours of the night.

It was probably 3am and I was woken from a dead sleep (and some crap nightmares) by a tickle across my face. Yes, you know where this is going. My apologies for the hair standing on your neck. So, I jump up in bed while swatting at my face. I see something fling towards Daire (our sheets are white and light blue). He then immediately rolls over onto his back in that spot. I’ve not yet convinced myself there was an actual bug of sorts on my face. I spend the next hour laying there slapping every tiny movement on my skin until I finally pass out.

Fast forward to this morning. I find this dead sucker. The nights trauma starts to come back to me and I realize THIS is what was on my face. THIS. I’m not a murderer, but he asked for it.

There’s obviously something about my cripsy brown skin the insects here like. Needless to say, I’m now ready for Winter and snow. Lots of snow.

Normally, these museums dont ever really thrill me. Replications of old things that only appear real to children. However, this outdoor museum/town are actual buildings and homes. They have been relocated from all over Ireland to this museum. Its setup as a small town and you get to walk around through all the building. It was just fascinating to look at, knowing people had once lived and worked in these buildings.

I will have one of these in my garden. Also, once I get the internet back, I need to go through and look up the names of all these plants.

Daire and I frequently uproot plants when we’re out walking and then plant them at home. Sometimes they grow, sometimes they dont. Well, we took this vine because it was a really nice climber. It shot up out of nowhere and then this massive flower appeared on the top :)
